The online shop at www.buitengewoon.co.za is operated by AfriCamps Routes (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2014/047202/07 and VAT number 4910267865, a private company registered in South Africa and trading as Buitengewoon Luxury Outdoor Living (“Buitengewoon”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

Customer visits and product returns must be arranged with us in advance.
These Terms apply to products ordered through our South African online shop. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms together with our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy, Delivery & Collection Policy and Privacy & Cookie Policy.
The shop is intended for customers aged 18 or older who have legal capacity to enter into a contract. If you order for a company or another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits or replaces a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), or any other applicable law.
We sell standard Buitengewoon product configurations, including Coil and Snorkel hot tubs in Pine or Rhino wood, together with listed covers, trays, paddles, Rocket Stoves, flues and other accessories. The online shop does not currently accept custom colours, sizes, finishes or modifications.
We aim to present accurate product descriptions, measurements, photographs and specifications. Screen colours and natural materials may differ from photographs. Timber grain, colour, minor checking and weathering can vary naturally. Untreated Rhino wood develops a grey patina, while Corten steel is designed to form an oxidised patina. These natural characteristics are not automatically defects, although any functional failure will be assessed on its facts and under applicable law.
Indicative heating times are 75-120 minutes for the Coil hot tub and 65-120 minutes for the Snorkel hot tub. Actual heating time depends on factors such as ambient and starting water temperature, wind, fuel, water volume and operating method. Heating times are estimates and not guarantees.
All online prices are displayed in South African rand and include VAT. Delivery, special access, storage, rigging, crane hire and installation are not included unless they are expressly shown or quoted.
Available delivery charges are displayed or calculated during checkout. If your address falls outside a listed delivery area, please contact us for a delivery quotation before ordering.
If a genuine and obvious pricing or description error occurs, we will contact you before accepting or fulfilling the affected order. You may confirm the order at the corrected price or cancel it for a full refund of payments made for that order.
A 50% deposit is payable when you place an order online. Ozow processes the available card and EFT/Pay-by-Bank payments. We do not receive or store your complete card or online-banking credentials.
An automated order confirmation records that we have received your order and deposit. We may contact you to verify product availability, delivery area, access or other important details. Your order is accepted when we confirm that it can be supplied.
Orders are subject to availability and production capacity. We will not accept payment without a reasonable basis to believe that we can supply the product.
We will issue an invoice for the remaining 50% before collection or delivery. The balance must be paid by the due date shown on the invoice and must clear in our account before your product is collected, loaded or dispatched.
If the balance is not paid, we will send a written reminder and give you a reasonable opportunity to remedy the default. We may then suspend or cancel fulfilment. Any cancellation charge or deduction will be limited to a reasonable amount permitted by law; the full deposit is not automatically forfeited.
Depending on stock and production status, an order may take approximately 1-3 weeks to complete or become ready for collection. Delivery transit time is additional and begins after the order is complete, the balance has cleared and dispatch has been arranged.
Dates are estimates unless we expressly agree to a fixed date in writing. We will notify you of a material delay and provide revised information. Your statutory cancellation rights remain available where we do not perform within the agreed period.
Delivery and collection are governed by our Delivery & Collection Policy. Available methods may include delivery by Buitengewoon in selected areas, delivery through an approved third-party courier, or collection from an agreed location.
Courier delivery is a drop-off service only. It does not include carrying the tub through a home, lifting it onto a deck, rigging, crane hire, final positioning, plumbing, installation or commissioning unless separately agreed in writing.
You must provide a safe, accessible delivery point and at least four capable adults for offloading and movement. You are responsible for confirming access dimensions and ensuring that the final supporting surface is level, stable, suitable and capable of bearing the tub’s full operating load.
Please consider the entire route from the delivery point to the final position, including gates, passages, stairs, corners, walls, roofs, landscaping, slopes, overhead obstructions and any lifting requirements. Any specialist moving equipment must be arranged and paid for by you unless it is included in a written quotation.
A filled hot tub is extremely heavy. The Coil installation manual records a full operating weight of up to approximately 1,000 kg with four adults, and the Snorkel manual up to approximately 1,400 kg with four adults. Consult a qualified professional if there is any uncertainty about a deck, balcony, raised platform, waterproofing, drainage, fire safety or structural capacity.
The Coil hot tub is for outdoor use and must stand on a fireproof surface. The Snorkel hot tub and chimney must also be used outdoors in accordance with the manual. No product may be used indoors.
The applicable Buitengewoon installation and operating manual forms part of the product information. Please read it before installation or use and make sure that every operator follows it.
– Never light or operate a heater without the required water level above the relevant hot-water inlet.
– Never leave a burning fire unattended, and keep a certified fire extinguisher nearby.
– Keep children, pets and flammable materials away from heaters, pipes, stoves and flues.
– Keep bathing water below 39 degrees Celsius and do not enter water that is too hot.
– Enter and exit slowly because wet surfaces may be slippery.
– Do not use the hot tub under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that may impair safe use.
– Use only the fuel and operating method specified in the applicable manual.
– Do not alter, overload, jump into or subject the hot tub to unintended loads.
These warnings draw attention to risks involving fire, extreme heat, hot water, slipping, drowning, dehydration and structural loading. They do not replace the complete manuals or reasonable adult supervision.
To request cancellation before dispatch or collection, email hello@buitengewoon.co.za as soon as possible. Where the law permits a cancellation charge, it will be reasonable and based on the actual circumstances, including work already completed, costs incurred, notice given and our reasonable ability to resell the product. No fixed charge applies automatically.
This clause does not limit an ECTA cooling-off right, a right arising from non-performance, or any other mandatory consumer right.
Qualifying online purchases may be cancelled without reason within seven days after receipt under section 44 of ECTA. The customer is responsible for the direct cost of safely packaging and returning a change-of-mind purchase. Full details appear in our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy.
Defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-compliant products are handled separately under the CPA and other applicable law. During the CPA’s six-month implied warranty period, a qualifying defective product may be returned without penalty at our risk and expense, and the customer may choose the remedy permitted by section 56 of the CPA.
In addition to non-excludable statutory rights, we provide the following commercial warranty against confirmed manufacturing faults, calculated from the delivery or collection date:
– Coil heater: three years.
– Wooden cladding: one year.
– Fibreglass shell: one year.
– Accessories and other separately supplied components: one year.
Proof of purchase is required. During the first six months, the CPA takes precedence wherever it provides greater protection. After the first six months, the additional commercial warranty is subject to the remedies and logistics terms in our Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy.
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising under the CPA for unsafe or defective goods, or liability arising from our gross negligence or wilful conduct.
Subject to the previous paragraph and applicable law, we are not responsible for loss caused by unsuitable site conditions, inadequate structural support, customer-arranged rigging, incorrect installation, misuse, failure to follow the manuals, unauthorised alterations, unsuitable water chemistry, ordinary wear and tear, or events outside our reasonable control, to the extent that the loss was caused by those circumstances.
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy and POPIA. Transactional messages about an order are necessary to perform the contract. Marketing messages are separate and may be declined or unsubscribed from at any time.

If a complaint cannot be resolved internally, you may use any remedy available under the CPA, ECTA or other law, including approaching an applicable ombud, regulator, tribunal or court. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising a statutory right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any choice of law or jurisdiction remains subject to the customer’s mandatory rights.
We may update these Terms for future orders. The version accepted when you place an order will govern that order unless a change is required by law or agreed with you.
